Interesting that, given the answer, the following is also true:
8 + 5 = 4 + 9 (=13) 1 7 + 6 = 10 + 3 (=13) 2 0 + 13= 1 + 12 (=13) 3
…so a possible extended version of the pattern could be 8 5 4 9 1 7 6 10 3 2 0 13 1 12 3
