How Many Legs?

You walk into a room and see a bed. On the bed there are two dogs, four cats, a giraffe, five cows and a duck. There are also three chickens flying above the bed. How many legs are on the floor?

Since all of the animals are on the bed and no other furniture is mentioned in the room, there are six legs on the floor. Four legs from the bed and your own two legs as you stand in the room, amazed that someone managed to get so many animals onto a bed. And the ceiling must be vaulted to fit a giraffe. Also, who’s on cleanup duty?

Bed πŸ›Œ 4 legs on floor
ChairπŸͺ‘ 4 legs on bed
Dog πŸ• 4 legs on bed
Dog πŸ• 4 legs on bed
Cat 🐈 4 legs on bed
Cat 🐈 4 legs on bed
Cat 🐈 4 legs on bed
Cat 🐈 4 legs on bed
Giraffe πŸ¦’ 4 legs on bed
Cow πŸ„ 4 legs on bed
Cow πŸ„ 4 legs on bed
Cow πŸ„ 4 legs in bed
Cow πŸ„ 4 legs on bed
Cow πŸ„ 4 legs on bed
Duck πŸ¦† 2 legs on bed
PersonπŸŒοΈβ€β™€οΈ 2 legs on floor

As it reads the answer is would make you say 6
Bed πŸ›Œ 4 legs
PersonπŸŒοΈβ€β™€οΈ 2 legs

However the correct answer is zero

Person πŸŒοΈβ€β™€οΈ is walking in on feet
Bed πŸ›Œ is also on floor but on feet. (Using the popular phrase “Foot of the bed”)

It’s so OBVIOUS! You can’t WALK on your legs, you would have to CRAWL, and this says the person is STANDING, and beds don’t stand on their legs, they stand on their ‘feet’. I quoted that because beds don’t actually have feet… Anyway, the correct answer is zero, so Antonio, Dave, Heffajean, Pascale, Roseb, Mary, Neo, Gugu, Nette, Dvas, Victoria, Don, Theresa, HotLips, Gym, April, Vee, Bokals, Gary, I all got the correct answer! Also, Emily, when you commented on February 4th, 2016, you swore. Please mind your language, so we can make this website welcoming to all.

What about the chair?

It is simple.
Beds do not have Legs or Feet, they have a Bed Frame, or it could be just the Mattress and Box spring on the floor.
The person standing in the room is
“Standing in the room on his FEET”
Not his legs.
Do any of you recall this little ditty?

” The back bone is attached to the hip bone, the hip bone is attached to the leg bone, the leg bone is attached to the foot bone ”

That pretty much proves that the last thing to be touching the floor is your FEET not LEGS.
The only LEGS left touching the floor is on the CHAIR.
Chairs have Legs.

The answer is not valid. Reason, there are 4 legs on the bed and there are 4 legs on the chair. You standing are on your feet not your legs.
