How Many Legs?

You walk into a room and see a bed. On the bed there are two dogs, four cats, a giraffe, five cows and a duck. There are also three chickens flying above the bed. How many legs are on the floor?

Since all of the animals are on the bed and no other furniture is mentioned in the room, there are six legs on the floor. Four legs from the bed and your own two legs as you stand in the room, amazed that someone managed to get so many animals onto a bed. And the ceiling must be vaulted to fit a giraffe. Also, who’s on cleanup duty?

What’s your reasoning?

There are 4 bed legs on the floor. The persons legs can’t be counted as on the floor as their feet are what’s touching the floor.

CJ: Following that reasoning, there would be no legs on the floor. The feet of the bed are touching the floor too.

None. Feet on the floor. Beds have posts.

None. Because you are on your feet the bed has no legs chickens don’t fly which means they would be on the floor but also standing on feet!

first of all the question was incorrectly asked because the actual riddle has feet and not legs to prove the riddle suppose to be feet cow have legs hippos have legs but no feet so the whole structure of this riddle is wrong but in conclusion the answer suppose to be 2 because of your own two feet cause a bed doesn’t have feet it has legs

You walk into a room and see a bed. On the bed there are two dogs, four cats, a giraffe, five cows and a duck. There are also three chickens flying above the bed. How many {legs}(FEET) are on the floor?

Chickens do not fly though….is that not a trick question then?

It’s true, chickens can’t fly long distances. But they can fly over a bed for a few seconds.

The answer is not six its four. The question is how many legs are on the floor. Since the bed has only one foot and has four legs to support the bed and the person who walked in to the room was on there feet when they walked in and not on there legs. The answer is four.

it asks how many legs on the floor? You do not walk on your legs but on your feet so your legs are not on the floor. So the answer would be 4 from the bed

A person touches the floor with their feet so that’s wrong, it’s 4 from the bed and that’s it
