Against the Rules for You to Play Fair
It’s against the rules for you to play fair,
I always win but you don’t care,
I’ve ruined lives and crushed dreams,
But the allure is too much it seems.
What am I?
A casino. If you use methods to make the odds more fair to you, they kick you out. The house always wins, yet people continue to play. Gambling has ruined countless lives and crushed dreams of making millions, but the hope of winning continues to draw people in.

Sounds like a casino to me… the odds favor the house so if you were to hypothetically do something to make it “fair”, you would technically be cheating. And this is why the phrase is “the house always wins”. People blow all their money on gambling, which ruins them… but are still addicted anyway.

I surprised myself by getting it right (casino)
@charles: ‘love’ works except for the first two lines of the riddle. I think ‘cheating’ would be a more acceptable answer
It’s against the rules for you to play fair [playing fair would be the same as staying loyal]
I always win but you don’t care [when you give in you may or may not be thinking about your actions]
I’ve ruined lives and crushed dreams [cheating does that]
But the allure is too much it seems [temptation gets the better of you]
