Two Faces But Show You One
I have two faces, but show you one.
I once had guests, but now have none.
I’m rarely bloody and seldom blue.
I’m often promised and sometimes new.
The moon. It has two sides, but on earth we only ever see one side. Man has been on the moon, but no one is there now. A full lunar eclipse is known as a blood moon, and the phrase “once in a blue moon” refers to something that rarely happens. Promising the moon is making an extravagant or impossible promise, and there’s a new moon once every lunar cycle.
Against the Rules for You to Play Fair
It’s against the rules for you to play fair,
I always win but you don’t care,
I’ve ruined lives and crushed dreams,
But the allure is too much it seems.
What am I?
A casino. If you use methods to make the odds more fair to you, they kick you out. The house always wins, yet people continue to play. Gambling has ruined countless lives and crushed dreams of making millions, but the hope of winning continues to draw people in.
Grow In Trees and Have No Teeth
I grow in trees, eat living things but have no teeth and give birth to something that looks nothing like me. What am I?
A bird. They are hatched and raised in trees (nests), don’t have teeth in the traditional meaning of teeth and they lay eggs, which look nothing like a bird.
A butterfly / caterpillar could also work.
Nearly A Victory, Quickly I Pass
Nearly a victory,
Quickly I pass,
A request of the chair,
I’m silver, not brass.
What am I?
Second. Second place is next to winning. Seconds, the measure of time, pass quickly. Seconding a motion is requested by the chair of the body in Parliament. And the second place finisher in many sporting events such as the Olympics is awarded the silver medal.
And as for why the unit of time is called a second, it goes back to the days of Ptolemy. A second of time is the second small part, or pars minuta secunda, of an hour. (Thanks to Tim J for researching it).
Cut One Off And I Become Stronger
I have three letters. Cut one off and I become stronger. Cut two off and I become ten. What am I?
A fox. Removing the f leaves ox, a strong animal. Cutting off the fo leaves X, the roman numeral for 10.

Calm and Cool Among Tumult and Fury
I remain calm and cool among tumult and fury,
I hide treasures and creatures you could hardly fathom,
I will crush those I welcome in deeply,
I am dark yet beautiful.
What am I?
Underwater in the deep ocean. Even when storms brew, the water deep below the surface is calm and cool. Thousands of treasures have been lost in sunken ships, and amazing creatures live at deep depths of the ocean. At extreme depths, the pressure is crushing. It is extremely dark deep in the ocean, yet also beautiful.
It Stalks the Countryside
It stalks the countryside,
with ears that cannot hear.
What is it?
Corn.
Anyone Can Take It
Anyone can take it as long as it’s on someone.
Pity.
