Travel a Lot Meet Both Rich and Poor

I travel a lot and meet both the rich and the poor, but nobody knows where I am going next. I’m invisible but you can see what I do. Who or what am I?

Wind (or anything blown by the wind). It moves all over, reaches the rich and the poor equally and no one knows exactly which way the next gust of wind will blow. You can’t see the wind, but you can see what it blows, like leaves or dust.

Money

Hmm, that could be it. Though money doesn’t typically get to the extremely poor…

How about nothing, that goes past the rich, and more to the poor

It could be love. Rich and poor people alike fall in love and it is pretty unpredictable

I’m going to say no to nothing since it doesn’t travel a lot.

I can see how love travels and it is unpredictable, but now I’m seeing lots of other options too, like disease, any emotion, the wind etc. A good riddle has a single, clear answer. We may have to modify the riddle to make it have just one answer unless there’s an answer that clearly fits better than the ones we’ve already come up with as it’s written.

Could it be luck?
Luck goes to poor and rich people, but we never know when we have luck since it comes and go.

A dollar bill

Patrick suggested death as a possible answer.

I think it’s illness because contagious illnesses like the cold and the flu travel alot and rich and poor people can get sick, and no one knows when it will just pop up.

It very well could be illness. It seems like there are several valid answers.

I think it’s death. When you die it doesn’t matter if you’re rich or poor and you can’t know who’s next.

I think wind because, more than anything, its destination is unknown and can be felt nearly everywhere.

I also came up with the answer “Luck”, but it could be “Gossip” too..
