The riddle says ‘number one’, not ‘word one’. Adding the letter g to the number one would result in either g1 or 1g.

This is lamest puzzle I have ever come across. I can add b as b-one. bone I can add c as c-one. cone Same like that lone, none,done,pone, zone etc.
