At Birth It Can’t Start Nor By Death Is It Ended
More precious than gold, but cannot be bought,
Can never be sold, only earned if it’s sought,
If it is broken it can still can be mended,
At birth it can’t start nor by death is it ended.
Friendship. It is more precious than gold to have a genuine friend, and true friendship cannot be bought or sold, only earned. When a friendship is broken it can be fixed and infants aren’t able to make friends until they’re older, but death can’t end it. Love doesn’t work as an answer because a friendship requires two people to interact, while parents love their children as soon as they’re born.
I Sleep By Day
I sleep by day, I fly by night. I have no feathers to aid my flight. What am I?
A bat.
Hickory Dickory Dock
Hickory dickory dock!
The mouse ran up the clock.
The clock struck one
and down I come.
The man will never talk.
What am I?
A guillotine.
Spit Like Bacon, Made With an Egg
I spit like bacon, am made with an egg,
I have plenty of backbone but lack good legs,
I peel like an onion but still remain whole,
I’m long like a flagpole, yet fit in a hole
What am I?
A snake.
Laughter Between Breakfast And Tea
People speak through me, yet I do not make a sound.
People can sell me, yet I have many clones.
I can bring you laughter between breakfast and tea,
Yet I can also break your heart easily.
I cover the earth like trees of old,
Whose leaves can blind and yet enfold.
A book. Authors can speak to you through a book, yet the book makes no sound. Books are sold and have many duplicate copies. A book can bring the reader to tears and laughter, they span the globe and the leaves of a book (a single sheet in a book is called a leaf) can get you wrapped up in the story that you’re unaware of what’s going on around you.
