One of these words does not belong, one of these words is not the same. What is it about the words that does not belong? It is more apparent than the first letter not being the same.
Selflessness
Selfishness
Strengthlessness
Defencelessness
Selfishness. The rest have only one of the vowels.

Seemed too obvious to me, so I questioned whether: strenghtlessness was an actual word; my system dictionary did not recognize it, so had to go look online?

It’s “selfishness” for another, more obvious (IMO) reason: The other words all contain the “less” sequence.

It’s selfishness, but not for the reason they states, since all of those words have more than one vowel. The other 3 involve the lack of something (i.e. defencelessness means the lack of a defense) whereas selfishness is being selfish, not lacking selfishness. Sorry if that’s confusing, I tried my best to explain it, because it is SO annoying that they give an incorrect, and illogical, answer.

@Ali Could you share the multiple vowels you see in the other words? The vowels are a, e, i, o, u and sometimes y. The other three words have one vowel, “e”. Selfishness has two vowels, “e” and “i”.
