How Many Legs?

You walk into a room and see a bed. On the bed there are two dogs, four cats, a giraffe, five cows and a duck. There are also three chickens flying above the bed. How many legs are on the floor?

Since all of the animals are on the bed and no other furniture is mentioned in the room, there are six legs on the floor. Four legs from the bed and your own two legs as you stand in the room, amazed that someone managed to get so many animals onto a bed. And the ceiling must be vaulted to fit a giraffe. Also, who’s on cleanup duty?

There’s nothing that says you are the only observer, or that you walked into the room via the floor as opposed to a raised platform. There’s nothing that says “you” have legs at all – even double amputees can walk, though not necessarily on legs. There’s nothing that says you are in the same room as the bed – so which floor, including any others in adjoining rooms? There’s nothing to define “legs” – certainly beds and other items of furniture can have legs. There’s nothing to say that some of the animals do not not have one or more legs hanging off the bed onto the floor. There’s nothing to say the bed you see isn’t in a painting or mirror, so you cannot know the relationship of any legs associated with the bed to the room you are in. You cannot know the room isn’t a movie or music video prop and upside down (and therefore you are standing on the ceiling).

What ever happened to critical thinking?

The correct answer is 6. As a reason will be considered that, even two and the bed four feet. On the bed to sit all animal species. However, the solution is only partially correct: Because neither has the bed, feet, still has at all every bed legs. Who, however, any discussion escape want, you should see the correct answer 6 specify.

I have 5 dogs. The total number of all the dogs’ legs add up to 19. Why is this? *

And it talls you no legs are touching the floor so the only other answer you can have ischickens dont fly bed do have legs but the have feet on the bottom of them it dose not say your room or anything about a head board or foot board and you have feet you walk in on it says it in the ? And yes it dose say the chickens are flying but the problem with the whole ? Is chickens dont fly

Wow all you ppl that gave a number are wrong i just proved that it says legs not legs with feet and it dose not evan say there is a fram on the bed so you are also wrong just saying its says what you see in the ? You just added a fram in there because you think a bed should be on a frame so your answer is way wrong you guy over think the ? Way to much no wonder why you ppl got this ? Wrong

Ponder this for a moment……from the description that is given…there is no definite answer due to lack of info. It just says you see a bed. The bed could be suspended from a wall or ceiling, could be a pedestal style bed, and there is no pic to go along with it so there is no true answer. The only true thing about it is that we know that the person who walked into the room, his/her legs aren’t on the floor due to being on their feet. And do we know that there actually is a floor in this room or could it be a “room” in a barn or out building with dirt under it (hence there being so many animals on the bed).

The answer has to be 4

Two, your own.

The answer would actually be “0” because you walked in the room on your feet, and a bed doesn’t have “legs,” and even if the bed did have legs, for the sake of argument, it’s legs are not what’s on the floor!! ;)

4 just the legs of the bed. Our feet actually don’t touch the floor there is a very thin space I think it’s one millionth of a millimeter between the bottom of your feet and the ground.

2 because your standing on the ground looking at rhe bed

The answer is 0 . Your legs isn’t on the floor your feet is and the bed if it doesn’t or does have legs that’s not on the floor either. The only way the bed leg would be on the floor if it wasn’t put on the bed frame.
