You have to assume that a person has two states, married or unmarried. Widowed and divorced are ignored.

On the other hand, since we know nothing about Anne other than the fact she’s looking at George, one might argue that Anne may not be a person, and conclude that we have insufficient information to determine the answer.

Marriage is a social construct between persons, not animals. We are told that Jack is married so therefore we can assume he is a person. Likewise, we may infer that George is a person given the statement that he is unmarried, since there would be no point in declaring the marital status of a subject that couldn’t possibly be married.

Jack is married. If Jane is unmarried, then YES.. Jack, a married person is looking at Jane, an unmarried person. However, if Jane is married, then she is the married person looking at George, the unmarried person. GG.

Anne would be unmarried. This is to why Anne is depressed. She is looking at ‘HERSELF’ in the mirror. Which basically is telling us: Anne is Unmarried, but George is Married. John is married with George. Therefore, Anne is left out and is suicidal.

The question however directly askes about a “person”

So if John is a cat, who is looking at Anne the dog, who is looking at George the turtle,
Then the answer is B) No.

But you do not have the information about the species
