Well it doesn’t specifically say that Wade catches the bullet as it’s shot. Alan could have shot the gun at a shooting range… then picked up the bullet and simply tossed it to Wade…. therefore making Wade catch a bullet that Alan shot in the air.

Or he could have shot the bullet straight up in the air and then wade could have waited to catch it and been luck ig lol.

I read it this way.
The catch word is “fire” and the leading word is “bullet.”
Instantly, your brain panics and “You are in danger.”
We can’t help it. it is a survival “Flight or Fight,” catchy phrase.
Even though, I am wrong and read the answer, I congratulate all that thought it as a mathematical riddle.
I understood it as a “Catch 22.”
When you take out, “fire and bullet,” you are left with a toy gun.
Great one! I would have been the victim …
not the smart one who had the gun!! :) :)

The heat is only one problem, this is way to specific, I’ve never even heard of the burg khalifa, have no idea what a .25 acp is and I’m probably not alone. The bullet probably wouldn’t even reach it’s maximum height anyway.

The bullet will be hot when it leaves the barrel, but the air will cool it down enough to be comfortable to the touch by the time it reaches his hands.

What about the temperature of the bullet? It is not just the gravity slowing it down, but air resistance as well. That will generate a lot of heat. I read a report of a WWII pilot catching a bullet that was travelling with the same speed and direction as the aircraft, but it was quite hot, and the pilot was wearing gloves.

So I guess change bare hands to canvas worker gloves and it is fine :).

You could adjust the amount of gunpowder to barely pop the bullet out of the gun
Or a toy gun that pops the dealy bullet out slowly

I’ve reworded the riddle to rule out toy or Nerf guns. Strictly speaking, Nerf darts qualify as bullets, but I can see how people would guess that.

As for shooting from a long distance at a 45° angle, the speed of the bullet would still be too fast to catch bare handed.
