I saw this riddle on Mega Man Battle Network 4, a video game from Game Boy Advanced. I wonder if someone ripped it off there or here or elsewhere

Water – not sand. Sand cannot do any of the above without another component.

1: Water is required to keep the sand stuck together
2: In order for sand to erode ANYTHING, it requires outside force from air or water (wind or gravity respectively)
3: Sandstorms require air, whereas looking into the rain blinds (or being underwater blurs enough to blind)
4: Water is required to allow anyone to see… saline is salt WATER.
