Black When Clean and White When Dirty
What is black when it’s clean and white when it’s dirty?
A chalkboard (or blackboard). It’s solid black when clean, and as you write on it with white chalk it becomes dirty.

This is bad and you guys are answering after seeing the answer we all know it. By the way chalkboards are blackboards. Blackboards are chalkboards and both are GREEN not black you stupid riddler. And a little something called dust makes so that just because it’s dirty it doesn’t HAVE to be white god you make these riddles stupid and such a stretch they’re just wrong. I came up with this in seconds. I cry but I dont shed tears I jump but don’t fall I eat but I don’t chew what am I.

Sean, you’re getting mad at a riddle that makes sense. There are black blackboards, not just green. LOOK IT UP.

For those of you that are comparing “blackboards” to “chalkboards”, they are indeed the same, but the words used imply different things. Both are made with slate, but the type and color of the slate is different which is where the different terminology comes in play.
Blackboard refers strictly to a chalkboard with a black appearance because of using a darker or black slate in construction.
Chalkboard refers to ANY chalkboard regardless of color (green, tan, red, etc), although when the color is close to black or actually black it is more appropriate to use “blackboard” instead.
