That riddle sucks in my opinion. there is nothing hidden in the riddle or cool twist.
The only answer I would have come up with would have been “in the riddle I just wrote” but that’s not even a name… and I prefer my sad guess than the intended answer.

I think the answer is Inga. Solve it like a cryptic crossword clue. “There’s a woman” is the definition, the instruction is “in” (says where to look) and the clue is “a boat, on a lake, wearING A coat.” No reason why it can’t be a lake in Denmark!

Those of you who seem to think her name is What, really need to look at how it’s written..
What’s the woman’s name?? Notice the question mark?? There for her name can not be what. Or the sentence would end like What’s her name. But still it does make since that There would be her name. As it starts out with There is a woman on a boat in a lake. Not a traditional name. But they use There a lot in reference to a person’s name a place ect in riddles

I was taught her name was Inna Boat. But some said it might have been Onna Boat.
But over the years someone forgot how it truly went and came up with a different version .but it is ment to be heard not read

To the person who said “This poem was meant to be heard not read…when you write it out it loses something in the translation,” the riddle says “If you want to know her name, it’s in the riddle I just WROTE,” not “the riddle I just SAID.” So it was meant to be written out. “Anna Lake” also doesn’t work for most English speakers outside North America. “Anna” is usually pronounced with a short “a” sound (as in “apple”), and the word “on” doesn’t have a broad “ah” sound as it does in North America. So “on a lake” and “Anna Lake” sound quite different.
