Rainbow Neighborhood

There was a neighborhood of one-story houses.
One was red and everything in the house was red.
Another was purple and everything in the house was purple.
Yet another was yellow and everything in the house was yellow.
Still another was blue and everything in the house was blue.
In the green house everything was green,
and in the gray house everything was grey.

What color were the stairs in the yellow house?

There are no stairs in any of the houses because they only have one story.

There are stairs in a one story house. This is a fact. If we accept this ground floor to be a story, and a bungalow (a house with one story) only has one floor/story above ground level, as opposed to two, then there has to be a place for a store room, furnace area, etc.I live in a bungalow, and I can tell you right now that in a bungalow there is a downstairs and most bungalows, if not all, use stairs to connect the basement to the ground floor (first floor).

When you see this just before you watch America’s Funniest Home Videos and they show it on there with this guy making himself look stupid, you feel like you cheated. At least I do.

The guy was like, “Yellow?”
Woman: “Nope.”
Man: “Brown? Green? RED? ORANGE? PINK?”
Woman: “A one-story house.”
Man: “A one-story house, yeah.”
Woman: “Are there stairs in a one story house?”
Man: “No.”
Woman: “Then what color are the stairs???”
Man: “That’s impossible.”
Woman: “What’s impossible and why?”
Man: “There are no stairs in a one-story house.”
Woman: “So what color are the stairs?”
Man: “… OOOOHHH.”
